[He still thinks most everyone on the island is insane. No, he still doesn't believe in all the magic. And yes, he's still trying to find some way to logically explain everything.
But even detective maniac Edogawa Conan needs a break. Which was why today he was taking a break. At present, he was sitting under a tree with a stack of comic books on top of his jacket laying on the ground.
They were Sherlock Holmes comics. He wanted to see if they were any good since he hadn't gotten the chance to read them back home. For the moment, he seems more than content.
...now, really, he's just asking for someone to bug him.]

[Smirks.] It's why even if it was just because I saw the name, I rather like 'Conan.'
no subject
Was never a big fan of detective novels myself. You can understand why, I'm sure. ... [ cackle ] You picked that name for yourself? Should've guessed.
no subject
I can guess. And of course I did. It had to come from somewhere. I was in my family's library at the time and faced with a scary girl, I made it up from book spines. Sir Conan Arthur Doyle and Edogawa Rampo's books to be exact.

Must be odd, hm? Not too many people in Japan have western-style names, even if Kinzo had a taste for naming his family with them.
no subject
Trust me, I know. A lot of people comment on how odd my name is.
no subject
I can only imagine the hassle Battler has gotten for his, given it isn't even a name. Maybe Rudolf just picked up a Japanese-English dictionary and picked whatever sounded interesting? [ cackle! ]
no subject
I was actually wondering about that. I thought maybe it was some language I wasn't familiar with and it just sounded like the English 'Battler.'
no subject
It's rather symbolic though, don't you think? How things play out can be quite ironic sometimes.
no subject
[Pauses.] Actually, it does seem to work that way...most of the people I know have names connected to famous mysteries.
no subject
... I guess, if you structured the tale of Rokkenjima into a true, fictional story, there's quite a bit of symbolism in names. I wonder if there's any to mine...? [ cacklecacklecackle! ]

To Beatrice? The most obvious example would be the Divine Comedy. Which would put your role into question.
no subject
... [ urk ] I'm familiar with it, but explain your reasoning.
no subject
Beatrice was a guiding force to good. To the light, out of wickedness and sin. Someone so good and pure that she's comparable to the Virgin Mary and Lady Lucian. Names like 'the Golden' would fit this role as a guiding force to the light, but if you did as you claim, you could not be like her. First off, if you did give Kinzo ten tons of gold, you'd have already promoted a sin of hoarding and greed. Then there is also the fact you're claiming to be a murderer. If you were to be like that 'Beatrice' then...
[Pauses, thoughtful for a few moments.] Then it'd be more likely instead of being the criminal, you only say that to force Battler to realize the true criminal and guide him out of the darkness of doubt and uncertainty.

Or maybe you just say that because those guided by Beatrice has to go through Hell and back to reach the true path.
[Flips the page.]
Of course, that's if names truly had a meaning.

Beatrice is a title among witches of Endless anyway, it has no bearing on the story. No secret meaning. That loving guidance is something you could better apply to my teacher, who bore the title Beatrice before I did.

Done!
Woo~! I'm going to go up in level of my BSing skills by the time they're through.
There's no end to the level of BSing one can do with Umineko arguments :|b
This is true! I also find myself watching a whole lot more youtube videos on magic.
That and remembering Beato constantly omits stuff with the Red Truth should help a lot :|b
That it does~! Also, I keepwanting to see Conan use Blue just cause he'd freak at hurting Beato. O_o
... oh god that'd be so cool to play out. MORAL CONFLICTS.
IT WOULD BE! I have no idea HOW, but he'd do anything to take back the damage.
As long as Beato could cut it down in red afterward, she'd be okay!
So the Blue must always be weak for his sanity.
... Unless he really wants to impale her, yes. s-sob - 1/2

He really doesn't. He feels bad cause he let a murderer commit suicide. Or rather couldn't stop him.
W-WELL At least... Beato is really hard to kill. Or permanently maim.
At least there's that!

jejoweijqw I need to remember everyone that's there. THought I was missing one. O_<
HAHA I forgot too so I guess Nanjo is kind of forgettable. :(
Which kind of makes him more suspcious....
Especially since he's the only one who thoroughly checks out the bodies!
He could be making up all sorts of facts.
You can never trust them doctor types.
They've certainly killed enough people in Conan's world.
And let's not forget everyone's favorite nurse ever.
Though to be fair, the doctor was a good guy then too.
He just... got the short end of the stick. A lot.
Poor Irie. Hopefully those times he died, he got to go to loli maid heaven.
We can only hope ;w;
