Though I'm wondering if I'm the only one who can use it affectively? Since you're the one who moves the pieces, and for me to play requires laying out a majority of my hand if not all of it.

Well, we're playing for fun, not high stakes, for one. And if I want to prove myself, I'll have to work incredibly hard.

Well, this particular tell actually had nothing to do with that. Truth Day gave me a lot of hints for figuring out the final mystery.

And I'll take it very seriously. It's no fun if I treat it idly.

Perhaps! It's a double-edged sword. If you believed, I'd call it an amazing magic charm of equal exchange.

Hm, even if I did, I think it's more luck makes magic than magic makes luck. That way luck is more reliable.

... Hmm. Humans accept luck much more easily than magic, so that's always a factor. But they do pay each other equal tribute.

Luck has some logic behind it that magic lacks. Probability. By saying it can fail, then it's more likely to exist.

They do. Well, maybe not completely equal-- sometimes luck requires magic. And true, powerful magic always requires luck.

There's nothing guaranteed in the world except everyone is going to die at some point. Anything else that is is suspicious.

But would it really be luck then, if it required magic?

And a cynic, too! You must be the life of the party.

Some miracles can't be completed without a little bit of both-- but I'm speaking to the skeptic here. One who doesn't believe in miracles.
