[He still thinks most everyone on the island is insane. No, he still doesn't believe in all the magic. And yes, he's still trying to find some way to logically explain everything.
But even detective maniac Edogawa Conan needs a break. Which was why today he was taking a break. At present, he was sitting under a tree with a stack of comic books on top of his jacket laying on the ground.
They were Sherlock Holmes comics. He wanted to see if they were any good since he hadn't gotten the chance to read them back home. For the moment, he seems more than content.
...now, really, he's just asking for someone to bug him.]

But either way, it takes time for that to dry. It couldn't have been painted after the rain had started.

Of course, they could have done it another time. Like before they were going to meet Maria in the rose garden and put a tarp on it so no one would notice it.
no subject
That would mean you're most likely accusing one of the servants of painting the circle, am I right?
no subject
If i wanted to really stretch, I could even said the culprit told Maria to make it since she apparently knows what it looks like.
...which, considering how obedient she is, might not be that far of a stretch...
no subject
Hm...hmhmhmhm... you're right, that is quite a stretch. Even considering how much the child adores me, it'd be difficult for her to paint it, even if she had the time.

She might have time and she recognizes the symbol, but it seems unnecessary for something that complicated. Especially without knowing when the symbol was made. [Just a possibility to keep in mind should things go into the needlessly complicated. There was insanity involved, after all.]

Unless it was him. He did find it.

But... [He'd been close. He SAW Kanon's expression.] If it was him, he wasn't acting on his own terms.

No one acts for mourning like that. No one can fake a broken look like that.
Which means either, A, he believes himself less than human and was acting on orders that he felt he couldn't ignore, B, he didn't mean to kill Shannon and she was an accident, or C, there's something very, very messed up in his head and he only just then got hit by those emotions.
But it's almost too sad to think of it that way.
no subject
... but that's for you anti-Mystery types.

If the murders continue, then it's not likely him. Not with that sort of look unless it's C. If it was A, he's likely to rebel. And B, he'd just be broken.
Natsuhi also has a strong suspicion about her. After all, it'd be easy for her to put blood on her own door, why she'd be targetted, but then spared since a murderer wouldn't stop for the medallion, and why Krauss and Shannon's faces were partly spared.
And I am curious as to why she doesn't have the Eagle.
no subject
... That, I can answer. Same reason Hideyoshi and Kyrie don't bear one. They're not of Ushiromiya blood, therefore, they rank low in the family and can't bear the eagle. Some of the servants don't, and some do-- some are honored with it, and some are more or less outsiders. What decides this is Kinzo's whims.
no subject
So that is it? I was wondering. I thought it might be a family thing, but with the servants...it's very interesting. Those without Eagles are... [Pauses, picturing everyone in his head.] Natsuhi, Kyrie, Hideyoshi, Gohda, and Kumasawa. Everyone else has them.
no subject
-- Ah, and Nanjo. He's neither servant nor family, so he doesn't get one either, despite being Kinzo's close friend. Gohda has only been working for the family for a year and was hired by Krauss, so there's an explanation as to why he doesn't bear one.
jejoweijqw I need to remember everyone that's there. THought I was missing one. O_<
He's a doctor. It's only natural that he isn't included in bearing the Eagle, not being either.
Why doesn't Kumasawa doesn't have one then? She seems like she'd have been working here for years.
HAHA I forgot too so I guess Nanjo is kind of forgettable. :(
I don't really have an explanation for that. Genji is Kinzo's most trusted servant. Kanon and Shannon come from an orphanage that Kinzo has personally sponsored for years-- many servants come from there to work for the Ushiromiya family. Perhaps Kumasawa never earned his favor?
Which kind of makes him more suspcious....
And yet she's been kept around even until her old age. [Frowns.] He sponsors an orphanage and hires the orphans?
Especially since he's the only one who thoroughly checks out the bodies!
Yes. Though most have been known to quit after a few years, since they earn so much money working there that they have enough to go off on their own.
He could be making up all sorts of facts.
Well, it sounds like a good idea. Just seems...off.
You can never trust them doctor types.
How so? ... Because Kinzo doesn't sound like the type to sponsor orphans?
They've certainly killed enough people in Conan's world.
And let's not forget everyone's favorite nurse ever.
Though to be fair, the doctor was a good guy then too.
He just... got the short end of the stick. A lot.
Poor Irie. Hopefully those times he died, he got to go to loli maid heaven.
We can only hope ;w;
