Conan. [He's dropping down to kneel next to him.] I'm fine now, and honestly, that wasn't nearly as frustrating or miserable as the last time I'd died; I was actually moving and able to do something to keep someone ELSE from suffering the same, that time, instead of being stuck helplessly waiting for the inevitable.

...I'm going to kill that thing for the watch, however. PARTICULARLY if it doesn't start again when it's re-wound.

[He's putting a hand on Conan's shoulder; yes, he IS more worried about the other two - as sucky as that was, it could've been SO much worse.] Was she alright? Did you two make it out okay?

...I was being sarcastic - you should know by now I don't pick fights I have no way of winning.

[Nods.] We made it out all right. Heh, even got to keep a promise I made.

...Hakuba, we both get into insane fights. Even if some have more chance than I first thought.

Then we've both come out of this one intact.

...I won't go after the angels. I'd rather avoid them; I don't think I want to know what the things did to traumatize you like that.

[There is...definite twitching and fear on his face right now. G-geh, this conversation is not good for his health.]

You...you really don't.

It means it's not going to happen. [He squeezes Conan's shoulder to snap him out of it.] I'm sure if they were still around there'd have been word - they were probably just let in for Halloween.

[Snaps out of it. Kind of.] ...still, the fact they came back...is worrying.

Conan. [He's very pointedly looking Conan in the eye on this.] If they were able to come and go as they please, then they wouldn't have left until they'd claimed everyone they could here, correct?

And the Island has already trapped and kept things that should've been far beyond any power doing so to them; Bernkastel, Lambda, Neuro, one of the Fates, and a few other beings here. If the forces at work here can keep them in, it stands to reason they can keep something else out. I don't think they "came back", I think they were allowed in briefly, to scare us.

...all the more reason to be worried about them. [B-because who knows when the Island might let them in again.]

Another thing to keep in mind.

They're no more powerful than any other threat here - if they were, I wouldn't have been brought back.

At least for that method of killing.

I'm going to ask you a question, Conan. When they were here before -

Did they kill anyone the other way?

Conan, they're gone. They've been locked out again, and somehow, I doubt they could get in here past Belldandy anyway.

[L-looking down.] They might...they eat time, she is time...who knows what would happen...

Especially when they get into your head...

[Clenches his fists.] Imagine, if you will, Hakuba...imagine being where I am in the world...my head is the only place that's SAFE...

Do you...can you even imagine what it's like...to have something take that away...?

If Belldandy hadn't saved us when we did, Hyobu was about to do that to me - and yes, that was about the most frightening thing I've had threatened on me here, to lose everything I've been working on or even be turned against someone I care about that casually.

[He has a small, grumpy moment.]

You know that stupid event where you were trying to jump me was another case of something tampering with the way your mind works. [Yes. He did just equate the Angel to the Moe Note.]

It's not just tampering with how your mind works...that's horrifying, but this...

This wasn't about control...

[There's a pause....and you are being picked up. And he is going to be finding someplace out of the way, probably going right back to the attic. Carrying you.]

[He's going to be sitting down in one of the far corners of the attic, where it's fairly closed in on all sides, and not actually letting go or putting you down - because he figures at this point, you probably need it.]
