No, this doesn't look like any part of the Island I've been too.

A lot of mist, walking dead...supposedly Clam Island has it according to rumors, but I've never BEEN there.

[Muttering not safe for polite company with something about "knewitwaszombies", running] What did the rumors -say-, exactly?

Clam island likes to fuck with your head, the mountain being the worst part, and there's zombies in the forest.

And has good shellfish.

Did they say anything about an abandoned cit-

[And he's skidding to a halt.]

[That's a lot of zombies that just blocked off the road.]

[A bloody awful lot of zombies.]

No, nothing about a city, but that might be the Island making an alteration. Kazuha did mention a 'Mansion' for last years events.

[He stopped. Why did he stop?]

[And then he hears the plethora of groans.]

Too many. [And - well, there's an alleyway to the side that he's going to make for!]

[A nice...longish...narrow alleyway.]

[That he doesn't get THAT far down before another screeching halt.]

[Oh, and this wonderful loud scraping noise in front of him like a fairly heavy chunk of metal scraping along pavement...]

[The zombies would slow down the Angels. They did still have eyes and thus they would be able to see the Angels.]

[So he spared a glance to the front.] ...that's the slasher monster.

[...FML.]

Right. Up it is.

[You are getting thrown at the fire escape. He has faith in your ability to be velcro and grab the railing/climb over it, and he will be turning to follow.]

[And there's that far too familiar feeling of being thrown like a damn sack of potatoes!]

Wah! [But just as accepted, Conan immediately latches to the railing and quickly pulls himself over.] Damn it, Hakuba! Warn me! [But he's already moving to get to the ladder.]

[There's a half-second as he's heading to either grab the ladder or make a jump for the lower part of the fire escape himself where he glances at the entrance to the alleyway with a very distinct "oh fuck me" expression - ]

[And then that gets interrupted by That Thing That Was Supposed To Be Slow Dragging That Huge Blade suddenly being right there in a lunge.]

[He's getting tired of being impaled, you know.]

HAKUBA! [Conan grabs the bars of the fire escape, all to ready to throw himself over and try to help when he catches sight of a stone wing, reaching out for Hakuba, who blocked it from view of the large beast.]

...Hakuba... [Even if he went down, even if he somehow took care of the monster, the Angel would be there.]

[All it takes is a few seconds to realize the one truth of the situation. The one truth that could neither be kind nor unkind and was simply fact.]

[And with that he closed his eyes, at least hoping the Angel made the death quick and painless for Hakuba.]

[Well, there is that - of course this makes when and where he's going to respawn FUN....since even with the angel getting the last shot, he's still ... you know... dealing with a giant gaping hole.]

[PS you may want to run and go look for Beatrice/find that funny graffiti.]

[Too bad Conan doesn't actually KNOW how they kill people their normal way. Just it has to do with taking time.]

[There's a few seconds where he just stays there, his knuckles white from where he was gripping the bars before he opens his eyes, seeing the monster and the Angel staring at each other, Hakuba gone.]

[Until the monster turned away, he had time.]

...I'm sorry. [It was barely a whisper and then he was running up the fire escape.]

[ Meanwhile, guess who just stumbled out of the mansion. ]

[At the moment, Conan was running more or less on automatic. He dealt with death a lot, yes, but seeing someone he actually, well, CARED about hit and hit hard. The closest he ever got before was when he was already 'dead,' when his friends had just been attacked, or that one music teacher. Otherwise, he barely knew the people at all. So much so that Akemi stood out as one of the more painful deaths just because of her dying words.]

[He never dealt with it and he was just shoving it all aside for now because he had no other way to deal with it.]

[Beatrice. He had to get to Beatrice. She was still at the Mansion.]

[He ran across the rooftop, managing the jump to the next building to get down that fire escape. There were still zombies between him and the Mansion, but...well, they weren't that hard to outrun at the moment.]

[ Beato had done her fair share of searching-- and after everything she put up with in the mansion, when she finally found a way out, she couldn't afford to look back.

By now, she had gotten her key and envelope. ]

Beatrice! [So running to you when he sees you, still looking kind of pale, his face more devoid of emotions than anything.]

Conan...

[ Also pretty quiet, after her whole ordeal in there. ] You got out?

Yes. [Reaching up to grab your hand and leading you away RIGHT NOW.] There were Angels.

[ Being dragged by an eight year old! ]

Figures. I dealt with worse.

When they're not destroying your mind, the death is pretty quick.

[TAKE A GUESS HOW HE LEARNED.]
