[So, all of you islanders have been recovering from the horrors of the Zombie Island Mish-Mash of Nuclear AWESOME, doing your island-y things. That's cool, so has Ed, off being his usual slightly-reclusive self and blowing things up in his Gilligan-lab to pass the time. Life returns to what passes for normal here, right?

...and then there's the note. Of course your first thought is 'Oh God, another event?' as would be the logical train of thought--

Wait a minute. Wedding invitation? Of the island and--WHAT?! And on top of that you're free to leave for home or wherever you like?]

...there's no way. This has to be a trick.

Now that's a heavy word-- no, I wouldn't change a thing. I would do more, yes, but I wouldn't change anything so it didn't happen.

Yeah. I had a lot of things to be thankful for.

... Heh, sure.

I grew up in Gongaga. It was a small country town. From there on, I wanted to be in SOLDIER, this... elite, military task force. And I got in. And when I made second class, a lot of stuff in my life began to change. Some difficult things happened, I had to fight my teacher, and SOLDIER, and Shin-ra, and all of that... it wasn't what I thought it was.

Towards the end, I was just trying to make it back home, to take care of my friend and see someone I missed. I didn't make it, but... that person I took care of, he's still alive out there.

And... he'll do good.

I tried to lead the kind of life I thought a hero would have-- that's why I wanted to be in SOLDIER. Whether or not I made it... [ shakes his head ] I don't know. A hero shouldn't be the one to call himself a hero. What I do know is that even if my life ended like that, I wouldn't change it. I wouldn't run.
