The Ultimate Anti-Climax of Ultimate History?
[So, all of you islanders have been recovering from the horrors of the Zombie Island Mish-Mash of Nuclear AWESOME, doing your island-y things. That's cool, so has Ed, off being his usual slightly-reclusive self and blowing things up in his Gilligan-lab to pass the time. Life returns to what passes for normal here, right?
...and then there's the note. Of course your first thought is 'Oh God, another event?' as would be the logical train of thought--
Wait a minute. Wedding invitation? Of the island and--WHAT?! And on top of that you're free to leave for home or wherever you like?]
...there's no way. This has to be a trick.
(( Are you skeptical of this ~*gift from the heavens*~ as Edward is? Are you one of the insanely hopeful that shall plan for where you'll go? Need to start making tearful goodbyes to your long-time buddies? Shanghai some fellow islanders to your homeworld for nefarious purposes? Get pissed at being brought here recently just to leave? Flip out and go find some Black Materia to call down Mete--wait.
So yeah. Post, mingle, have fun! And assume this is the day of the note-arrival, obvs.Mods, if this is out of line, feel free to stake me out for the vultures. *A*b ))

We had to work another Master, Rin Tohsaka. I had near fatally injured her Servant, and in exchange for actually knowing what to do, she wanted to use Shirou and I for help. Although Shirou may perhaps be a little too trusting, Rin was not a bad person.
The next significant event to happen was Rider. I had faced her on the roof of a tall building, which we scaled the side of. She took to the air, riding on a winged horse. Her speed and maneuverability, were too much for me, but I still had one option that I could use. With my sword of light, I was able to strike her down, and as we were above the city, there was nor risk of destroying everything in sight.
But... as I was underpowered, I became dangerously close to fading away. Unable to protect Shirou, he captured by an enemy Master, and taken deep into the woods to a mansion... one that I have been to before.
It was the Master of Berserker, Ilyasviel. Irisviel and Kiritsugu's daughter. Who still looked as old as when I first saw her. I doubt she knew who I was.

And what happened then?

Archer, Rin Servant, stayed behind to buy us some time. Although it turns out he managed far more than that...
We had fled into woods, and hid for the night in an abandoned shack. We needed a plan if we wanted to leave, and I needed to have the power to stand on my own. Measures were taken to ensure this and we had a strategy.
And it would have worked. The plan was for Rin to take Berserker by surprise and use all of her magic gems at once to destroy him. The problem arose when we learned that he had multiple lives. If it were any other Servant, Rin would have won. But after Archer was done with him, he only had around six or so left.
It had seemed things were going to be impossible but then Shirou did something. He created a sword from his body. It was the sword I pulled from the stone, Caliburn. I believe he saw it in a dream. But, as he was not the rightfully chosen king, it did not last him long... he tried again and that time I stepped in to help. With one strike we managed to finish off the rest of Berserkers lives.
However... that left Ilyasviel devastated.

Soon enough, Caster decided to show up. She came in hopes of having me as her sword, I refused of course. The magic she tried to use against me was a laughable effort, even her ancient spells had little effect on me.
But that was not the biggest shock of the night. A storm of blades fell from the sky onto Caster, and above us, I saw the King of Heroes once again, and he remembered everything from ten years ago.
As I've said, I'm special. Normally, a Servant, if they were summoned in two different wars, would not know of the previous one. However, he did... I believe he remained in the world those full ten years... I do not even wish to think on what measures he must have taken. But he took his leave, for reasons I cannot fathom.
... Then Shirou decided to take me around the city and show me around. I think he was having issues with my view on life. I think it was in some feeble attempt for me to enjoy everything around me. I call it feeble only because it did not work. In fact, all it did was make me angry at him. I had thought someone like him, who gave his all only for the sake of others could understand why I did what I did and why I wanted to grail.
... We really were alike. We had went our own separate ways, when nightfall came. Shirou came back. Our luck had turned rotten, as Gilgamesh happened to spot us soon after, and this time he was rather angry.

When used in that manner... it creates a barrier of sorts. Think like the kind that is here, only it surrounds the user. It's more complicated than that, but that explains it.
I felt great relief at knowing where that sheath had gone, and was so glad to know that Shirou was okay after Gilgamesh ran off.
But then, while my back was turned, Shirou went to the church. The church was run by the same person who was Master of Gilgamesh in the fourth war. I rushed over there, and was offered a choice.
Kill my Master and accept the Grail, or fail and die. But, Shirou had so much faith in me... and I learned there was something different between us, from something he said.
'No matter how painful the past, one cannot redo it.' Shirou had been the only survivor of that disaster ten years ago. He could have easily made it never happen... but if he had, what then? What of all that had happened?
That's when I realized. Why did I want to wish that it never happened? Why did I want to wish that it never happened? It was by my own choice that I pulled out that sword. It was my choice to live with the choices that I had made. I did exactly as I had set out to do, even if it ended in my ruin. If I cannot be proud becoming what I wanted to be, what can I be proud of?
If I wanted a new chance for a better turn, it shouldn't be in the past, it should be now, where one can carry on the wishes of those that have fallen!
I said I would like to have the grail, but I would never harm Shirou. After all, if I were to give up the grail now, that sickened priest would have it, and I could just not allow that. Unfortunately, we were cornered by the obvious underground, but... an old friend came to help us as we escaped.

[ A smile. ] So your choice and mine were the same.

We went back to Shirou's house, only to find that the priest had came to it and had taken Ilyasviel, in order to use her as a vessel for the grail. You may be able to guess what happened to Irisviel.
However, we could not just rush in. We needed to do something. That is why, Shirou gave my sheath back to me. He knew I needed it more.
When we reached the site of where the holy grail, we went separate ways. He went to deal with the priest, and I with Gilgamesh.
Thanks to my sheath I was finally able to rid him of his pitiful life he had now. I went to where Shirou was, where I was finally able to see the grail completely.
Calling holy would be an insult to anything holy. It was the very core of evil. Any wish that thing granted would only be that of destruction. This time, I destroyed the grail without any hesitation and rescued Ilyasviel.
... But, without any grail to support my existence, I had only a few minutes left. And so, I parted my final words to my dear friend, and was finally prepared to see the end of my life.
... And then I ended up on an island for two years. I didn't see that coming.

For what it's worth, I think you became a hero.
