Personal doubt, not doubt from an observer's view.

An observer's view is influenced by the personal view.

But you're still an observer, no matter what.

And even an observer can make an objection. So then how can a complete belief make a complete truth, especially when it's false?

I'm not talking about observers and pieces on the same level, kihihi. If the pieces of Rokkenjima either witness my magic, or me, or merely believe in me, that joined belief becomes a fixed belief and truth for them.

Naturally, I wouldn't expect a cynical observer like you to be swayed.

But, it's a personal truth, but not the real truth. And even then, if they can be convinced otherwise, there's doubt.

I prefer realist.

Cynical realist. And some people have strong beliefs, just like yours, you know.

Realist sees things as they are.

And a cynic puts such a mean twist on them.

I rarely put a mean twist on it. Since it's usually true.

Detectives aren't gods. Any detective whose any good accepts the fact there's a possibility they are wrong. That they missed something or didn't interpret the clues the right way. It's necessary to be a good detective, actually. After all, if a detective can't, then when they're proven wrong, they can't find the real truth.

Every deduction I make, I have a little doubt. But part of being a detective is having confidence that even though you can't have a one hundred percent certainty, that you're right and present the facts. And hope that if you are wrong, that there's definite proof so that person you falsely accused doesn't suffer from the bias you planted.

... Hm...hihihyakahahaha! I like it! To play a game with me, you must never forget that margin of error, and that there is always a possibility you're condemning the wrong person!

Of course, that weight... doesn't truly fall on your shoulders. It's Battler, who I play the game with back home who has the power to swing down the axe. But it still applies, it still is something to remember.

Exactly. If I don't allow for something to be wrong, then a crime will always seem impossible as I would accept one thing only. Doubt is required when it concerns people.

I know. To me, it's only a very good detective novel. Though it's not like I don't recognize the weight, as I have it back home.

But I could also look at Rokkenjima as a possible scenario. After all, I've imagined how I could die countless times. Or those close to me. All just 'what if's.' And as long as the game with Battler goes on, that's the case in the end, isn't it? It all resets, so the previous game only becomes a possible scenario and not the 'truth.'

So understand how difficult of a game this must be for a teenager who isn't even a detective, playing under a witch's set of rules.

... Hmm... kihihi. I wouldn't say that you could leave them as 'possible scenarios'. Every game has it's own world, and life goes on after the game is done for that specific universe. It has its repercussions no matter what.

I do feel sorry for Battler, but I've seen other teenagers manage, but I'm sure he'll find a way.

If Bernkastel is gambling on him, then he has a fighting chance. The fourth game will certainly shape up to be an interesting one...! Aah, I can't wait. I was all ready to go before I came here.

I won't deny that playing by witch's rules often means you can go crazy with whatever you come up with. It's nearly generous. Aah, Lambdadelta and Bernkastel have quite a hand in the game by now. They just don't move the pieces on Rokkenjima.

It'd be wise if he did acknowledge that fact. It'd benefit him.
