[There's a ~~not~~little boy standing outside the Labyrinth. He seems to be seriously debating whether or not to go in.]

If I keep my hand on one wall, I should be able to make my way out, even if I lose track somehow. And if there's dangers, I should be able to handle it. How bad can a maze be? Not like a large predator would be able to find all it's food in there unless there's a lot of animals...

[He's mostly talking to himself in this debate. He hasn't really talked to anyone that day. Too bad or he might have realized what's going on.]

Very good, detective. You know what this means?

It'll be a lot harder to keep track of where we are and we probably passed a lot of turns.

[Pulls a button out of his pocket and sticks it on the wall. Then he drags his foot along the dirt, pointing the way they came.] But that's fine. Not the first maze I've been in.

Well, at least I won't get lost. I can turn into butterflies anytime I want. You've got quite a problem on your hands, though!

I don't. [Hops over the little wall into the next path.] I have a few plans on getting out of this place even if I get completely lost.

Such as? What's your plan...? I'm curious. [ doing the same-- hard to do in a poofy dress like that ]

[Will be polite and wait. Would help, but...you know. Is a midget.]

That button is a tracer that my glasses can trace. And the little girl from my world has a badge like I do and I can track that. If we get lost, I contact her if my tracers somehow don't guide us out and just keep heading in the direction she's in until we get out.

... How resourceful! Do you get yourself lost in winding passages often?

A few times, but usually I can find way out another way, but since I can't keep track of turns when they're hidden, this would be a more reliable way.

So you were ready no matter what when you came in here. And here I thought you were just in a recklessly daring mood.

After having to chase the Shonen Tantei on their treasure hunts, I've made sure to have a few plans in case we ever got truly lost. Especially after that one trip. I'd rather not wander lost with a gunshot wound again.

-- Ooh, you've been shot?

I've been shot at a few times. Suffered a few grazes. One time someone got a good hit in.

[Puts a hand on his stomach.] We had to go deeper into a cave or they'd keep shooting at us. I stopped the blood temporarily, but I was bleeding for a while, even if it was a slower flow. Luckily Haibara and the professor got my message so there was an ambulance when we got out.

[Grimaces.] Still almost died. You can only afford so much blood loss when you're a kid my size.

Most would die. So there's another dose of luck and miracles on your side.

I guess. I only lived because Ran gave her blood for me right away.

At the time, she thought I was Shinichi. She had figured me out, but I was able to trick her again...

I wonder if that was for the best...

... Ah. Such strong human bonds. I'm used to them being so flimsy.

Ran and I have a strong bond. [Running a hand along a wall as they walk to not miss another possible turn.] Despite how insane the conclusion is, even though I give fake proof time after time that 'Conan' is not 'Shinichi,' she finds the similarities too much to ignore.

And even when someone appears before her as Shinichi...she can't help, but worry about Conan. At least according to Hattori. She cares and holds an unwavering faith that we will be together again, she would forgive me even for lying to her so long, and yet I keep doing it...

All to keep her from getting involved with my stupid mistake.

... And now, you're farther away than ever. You won't believe me that you're off your own planet, but this is truly, and wholly, another kakera.

But I suppose distance does little to waver things like that. It makes demons envy humans.

Ran believed Shinichi was away, but she didn't waver. The only times that changed was when I could be Shinichi for a brief time or when she thought 'Conan' was 'Shinichi.'

Even if I was across the galaxy, across all the dimensions. If I was at the farthest possible point I could be from Ran...that bond won't change. If she can wait twenty years, I could wait just as long. Even if it was just a day before the end of eternity, if I could just be with her properly for even an hour, a minute...

I could wait that long.

Why does a demon envy that? Wouldn't they have all the time in the world?

[ This face. This is probably the only time you'll see sympathy written on her face in a long, long time. ]

[ Of course, that's due to the truth event. ]

Because demons lie. They commit every sin. By their very nature, they cannot hold a bond like that. So they commit another sin, and envy those that can.

Envy, pride, lust, sloth, greed, gluttony, and wrath are the seven sins, correct?

I've committed at least over half of those and I'm supposed to be a 'good' person.

Can a demon really... [Pauses.] I shouldn't ask that. But I don't think a demon can't hold that bond.

And I think you could form that sort of bond one day.

'One day' ...?

What makes you think I haven't held that sort of bond before?

...if you say that, it will make me ask if you have.

Then I have to ask, how can you think you're anything like a demon?

I've always said I was a witch, not a demon. [ That should be a vague enough truth, and with that she is walking ahead at a brisk pace ]

Because you said it with that sort of look. It makes me think that maybe people consider people that say they're demons or witches don't see each other as all that different.

[Following.] But I'll stand by what I said. Even a being of all those sins, if a human could have them all and have that sort of bond, why not them?
