[There's a notlittle boy standing outside the Labyrinth. He seems to be seriously debating whether or not to go in.]

If I keep my hand on one wall, I should be able to make my way out, even if I lose track somehow. And if there's dangers, I should be able to handle it. How bad can a maze be? Not like a large predator would be able to find all it's food in there unless there's a lot of animals...

Basically, there are some things that can be tentatively assumed about humans in general. Of course, one shouldn't consider it ironclad, but until there is proof otherwise, it's better to have a basic assumption.

But anyway, you say humans but how do you know most of the people here are human? Sure they look it, but that could just be an illusion or they could just have some kind of shape-shifting power or it's simply just human-like in shape and form. Hell, I can change into a human whenever I feel like.

I was merely presenting alternative points for you to consider, but all you've done is made assumptions based on the norm in your world and never tested anything out to prove them a fact on this island or not.
