There's no way you could have someone in mind who you could prove would hate these three specifically or have a reason to kill them in such a brutal fashion, so the witch's darkness can comfortably cover these murders for now. There's also the matter of the locked shutters, how the culprit moved six bloody bodies in the span of one night... simple tricks for magic, but entertain me with those human theories.
